FACE THE PEOPLE BRINGS TIN-TIN BERSOLA-BABAO TO TEARS

Less than two weeks following their pilot episode, the emotions are already high on the set of TV5's social reality talk program, Face The People.

Hosted by Gelli De Belen and Tin-tin Bersola-Babao, Face The People puts common people with controversial issues on the spotlight to help them make the crucial decision that will most affect their life. Case subjects are seated on the iconic "silya de konsensya" to face a diverse group of a hundred people with strong views on the issue at hand.

Handling a show like this can be very emotional, and this upcoming Wednesday, Tin-tin Babao will not be able to hide her sentiments on-cam as she bursts into tears. As she and Gelli prepare for their extro spiels, and while the camera is still rolling, the Face the People staff surprises Tin-tin by giving her a birthday special. The host will celebrate her birthday on October 30.

Surprised and extremely touched by the gesture, Tin-tin cries as she thanks the staff for "taking care of her". In a separate interview, Tin-tin shared that it is her first time to do a show with this format and she welcomed this change in her career, thanking TV5 for "the trust".

This week, Face The People looks into the case of a man who falls in love with his house help on Monday, and the story of a security guard torn between the woman he loves and the woman who gave him a child on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, just before Tin-tin's birthday special, Face The People will feature the story of a 51-year-old bouncer who discovers that he's into men and falls in love with his 24-year-old colleague.

Face The People airs daily, 4:30PM, and is part of the beefed-up Everyday, All The Way programs of TV5.

Balitang-balita ang paghanga ng magkapatid na basketbolista na sina Jeron Teng ng De La Salle University Green Archers at Jeric Teng ng University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers kay Jessy Mendiola, ang Pinay Maria Mercedes.

Umabot ito kay Jessy sa pamamagitan ng social media na siya namang ikinatuwa ng dalaga.

DICK AT AMY, MGA KAPAMILYA MULI

Balik Kapamilya sina Roderick Paulate at Amy Perez  matapos silang pumirma ng kontrata sa ABS-CBN kahapon (Oktubre 22) kasabay ng pag-anunsyo ng kanilang balik-tambalan bilang host ng patok na musical game show "The Singing Bee" simula Nobyembre. 

Bakas din sa mukha ng matalik na magkaibigan ang tuwa dahil makalipas mahigit walong taon ay muli silang magkakatrabaho. 

"Pakiramdam namin, si Mamang, 'yong mommy ni Kuya Dick, pinapanood niya kami mula sa langit at ginawan niya pa talaga ng paraan na magkasama kami ulit," kwento ni Amy. 

"Pakiramdam ko nakauwi na ako matapos ang ilang taon. Iba talaga 'yong pakiramdam ng umuwi at muling makita ang pamilya mo," pahayag ni Dick.

Pinakapumatok ang tandem nina Dick and Amy sa noontime show na Magandang Tanghali Bayan (MTB) kaya naman marami ang nasasabik sa pagbabalik ng tambalan. GENIUS DOG ADOPTS A BOY IN DREAMWORKS ANIMATION’S “MR. PEABODY AND SHERMAN”

B-boying is the innovative and athletic dance form that originated on the streets of New York City during the 1970s and became one of the four cornerstones of hip-hop culture, along with emceeing, graffiti and DJing. Dubbed "break dancing" by the media, b-boying achieved overwhelming visibility in popular culture. Its luster eventually faded in the U.S., even as it continued to flourish around the world, as director Lee Benson discovered in his award-winning 2007 documentary, Planet B-Boy. Today, the basic moves first developed over 30 years ago have evolved into a highly sophisticated and acrobatic form of dance that can be legitimately compared to top-flight Olympic gymnastics.

Battle of the Year (or BOTY) is a real life event that takes place each year in France, attracting crews from around the world. "The competition has been going on for over 20 years," says producer Amy Lo, who also collaborated with Lee on his documentary. "It's a global event that attracts thousands of people. You can't imagine the energy."

Although the film's storyline is strictly fictional, it is deeply infused with the spirit of the documentary, using elements of different dancers' experiences to craft a classic story. "A brilliant coach has fallen on hard times and a hip hop executive wants him to put together the best dance crew in the world," says producer Tripp Vinson. "The world of b-boying tends to be about the individual and the coach teaches them to become a team so that they can compete in the Battle of the Year."

Halloween Special: MGA “GOIN’ BULILIT” NAKULONG SA HAUNTED HOUSE, MGA TEEN NG “LUV U” NAGTAKBUHAN

Ngayong papalapit na ang Halloween, ang mga ispirito ay nagsilabasan at nagpakita sa mga bata ng "Goin' Bulilit" at mga teen ng "LUV U" at ito'y mapapanood sa Linggo (Oct 27).

Dalawang horror story ang tampok sa darating na Linggo. Ang una ay nagsimula kasama ang mga batang sina Bugoy, Clarence, Harvey at Carl ng "Goin' Bulilit". Naglaro sila ng basketball, at dumating pa ang mga kaibigan nila na sina Belinda, Chacha at Brenna. Sa pagka-intense ng kanilang laro, nahagis ang bola sa isang lumang bahay na katabi ng basketball court.

Dahil wala namang nakatira sa bahay na iyon, nagdesisyong pumasok ang barkada para kunin ang bola—pero pagpasok nila ay nagulat sila nang makita ang isang bata at ang kanyang yaya.

Malalaman nila na abandoned pala ang bahay dahil nasunog ito dati, at sa sunog ay may naiwang dalawang tao sa loob—isang bata at ang kanyang yaya.

Sa pangalawang istorya naman ay bumisita ang mga estudyante sa isang ospital para dalawin ang kanilang principal. Si Principal Spencer (Smokey Manaloto) kasi ay nagkaroon ng isang nakapagtatakang sugat na nanggaling sa kagat ng isang pulubi.

Isa sa mga bumisita sa kanya ay si Rocky (Igiboy Flores). Nang makita nito ang kagat ay naisip niya na baka hindi lamang pulubi ang gumawa, kundi isang zombie.

Ang ibang mga teen naman, kasama sina Lexie (Alexa Ilacad) at Benj (Nash Aguas) ay dumating sa ospital pero hindi nahanap ang kwarto ni Principal Spencer. Naligaw sila at napadpad sa abandoned wing ng ospital. Nakasalubong ng grupo ang isang batang pasyente na naghahanap ng kalaro. Nang humindi sila dito, biglang hinabol ng pasyente ang mga magkabarda.

Paano kaya magtatapos ang dalawang horror story ng mga bata at teen? Makatakas kaya silang lahat, o maiiwan na sila ng tuluyan sa panahon ng Halloween?

Martin Escudero acting prowess tested again in TV5’s HIV-themed series, POSITIVE

After being recognized for his award-winning portrayal as Remington in
the independent film, Zombadings I: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington,
highly acclaimed actor Martin Escudero returns to the small screens to
play yet another challenging and controversial role as a person who is
diagnosed positive with HIV in TV5's daring move to discuss one of the
most relevant yet silenced issues we face today.

POSITIVE revolves on the story of Carlo – a young and successful
professional who lives his almost perfect life as an Operations
Manager of a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) company and as a
family man happily married to his pregnant wife, until he was
diagnosed positive of HIV. He begins tracing his steps backward, from
his times as a promiscuous teenager who lives a life of party and
drugs, to know where he got the disease.

Martin Escudero will play the lead.

Upon hearing that he would be playing as someone who lives with HIV,
Martin welcomed the role with enthusiasm.

"First time kasi that a whole series is dedicated to the life of
someone with HIV. It's an interesting series and it's a challenging
role, so I really have to prepare for it." said Martin.

Expecting the heavy drama scenes from the role he is about to portray,
Martin voluntarily submitted himself to workshops organized by the
AIDS Society of the Philippines (ASP) in order to know more about the
disease and to fully embody his character. Other casts, staff and crew
also joined the workshops to fully immerse themselves to the situation
and to accurately portray HIV for the series.

After knowing how the disease is transmitted, the rising numbers of
HIV/AIDS cases, and spending time hearing the stories directly from
persons living with HIV (PLHIV), Martin Escudero volunteered to get
tested for HIV.

"I wanted to get tested. Marami kasing natatakot magpa-test for HIV.
So I want to get tested to fully understand the feeling, para magamit
ko sa role ko bilang si Carlo" said Martin.

Martin won Best Actor both in last year's Gawad Tanglaw awards and
ENPRESS Golden Screen awards for his role as Remington in Zombadings
1: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington. Besides Positive, Martin is also
doing another independent film, this time international.

Positive is set to air on Thursday, October 7, and part of TV5's
