In his stellar career, one of Gary's most celebrated corporate relationships was with Coca-Cola with whom he had a contract for over ten years. Two years ago, he was tapped to launch their refreshing product, Real Leaf, and this year was invited again to record "Tuloy Ang Happiness" the 100th Year official anthem of Coca-Cola with Sarah Geronimo and Someday Dream, with powerful appearances at the Gala Night at Makati Shangrila as well as the "Concert Ng Bayan" at SM MOA last March 26.

The country is excited for Gary's much awaited return to the silver screen via an upcoming movie under Straight Shooters Media entitled "I Do Bidoo Bidoo" which he will star in together with Zsa Zsa Padilla, Eugene Domingo, Sam Concepcion, and Ogie Alcasid. He has appeared in 13 films for Regal Films, Seiko Films, Viva Films, and Star Cinema.

For his concert series at Music Museum, fans can look forward to witnessing Gary V in his best element as he performs his greatest hits as well as some of today's hottest chart-toppers, party anthems, and homegrown favorites. "I am particularly excited for our opening production number. It will be awesome. I really hope it works the way I envisioned it."  Gary V will be performing with two world-class musicians, Awit Awards 2008 Best Female/Best New Female Singer Julianne and Juan Miguel Salvador, formerly of Rage Band and now the musical director of Authority, which represented the country in the 2005 Global Battle of the Bands in London.

American Idol Season 11 Top 9 Results

Who was voted out? Clue: the contestant is of Asian descent likeNicki Minaj who performed during the American Idol Top 9 resultsshow.

Jessica Sanchez is safe.

Here's what AI mentor Jimmy Iovine thought of Jessica's Top 9 performance:

"At 16 years old, Jessica has managed to harness enough experience like she's been here for 10 years singing like this. What she's doing with her vocals at each and every moment of building that song, is something that people who have been doing it 20 years have difficulty doing. She got lost in that song, yet kept her composure. I am fully on board with this. I don't know how this voting pans out. But I do know that young girls tend to vote for young guys–seen by the last 5 years of who's won and lost this thing. But I think what we need right now is a little girl power."

The other contestant of Asian descent–Heejun Han–received the lowest number of votes and sang for his life.

After performing "Song for You," considered his best performance ever, the three judges did not save him.

The other contestants in the bottom three, by the way, were Skylar Laine and Holly Cavanagh.

Last year's winner, Scotty McCreery graced the show and performed his new single "Water Tower Town" (Click here to watch the video).Nicki Minaj, meanwhile, sang her latest tune "Starship."

Monsters Bring Hell on Earth in ‘Wrath of the Titans’

As the title indicates, Warner Bros.' new, 3D fantasy adventure "Wrath of the Titans" called forth some mammoth and mythical adversaries to pit against the demigod Perseus (Sam Worthington).

These include the multi-headed Chimera, three one-eyed Cyclops and an army of double-bodied Makhai. Perseus' most formidable opponent is, of course, Kronos, the gargantuan, heretofore imprisoned Titan and father of Zeus (Liam Neeson), Hades (Ralph Fiennes) and Poseidon (Danny Huston), who is on the verge of breaking free and bringing hell down on the earth.

"There's truly a smorgasbord of action to be had in this movie," says visual effects supervisor and second unit director Nick Davis, who also worked on the first film.

The first foe Perseus meets is the Chimera, a fire-breathing beast with the heads of a lion and goat, dragon-like wings and a vicious snake's head at the end of its tail.

"The main heads work in tandem, with one throwing out fuel and the other a haze of heat that ignites it," director Jonathan Liebesman says of the brute that tears through Perseus' village, a terrifying warning shot of things to come if he doesn't take action.

"The Chimera descends on the village like a meteor and immediately starts ripping it apart," Davis says. "There's a huge pyrotechnical explosion, then the ground starts to crack, followed by a very elaborate, 400-foot trench blast that snakes its way through the town before blowing up a house and finally erupting out of a building. Then it really gets going."

With the Chimera forcing his hand, Perseus is now committed to the battle to save Zeus and all of mankind from Kronos, and sets off to find a way into Tartarus, catching a ride with an old friend: the winged horse Pegasus, who takes him to Queen Andromeda's (Rosamund Pike) encampment.

Once Perseus, Andromeda and Agenor (Toby Kebbell) are on their way, they sail off to find Hephaestus, whose remote island home is booby-trapped and heavily guarded by a group of 30-foot-tall Cyclops, one of Liebesman's favorite creatures in the film. Prosthetics designer Conor O'Sullivan provided the director with about 15 different maquette heads, and worked closely with Davis in the full body design, before they determined the final blueprint for the Cyclops.
"The biggest challenge was to get them to appear as photorealistic as possible. Well, as much as a one-eyed, 30-foot monster can be photorealistic," Davis smiles.

Heralding the emergence of Kronos from his ages-long confinement, legions of two-torso Makhai rage through the battlefield in a swarm of death and destruction. An invention of the film's writers, they are warriors who had been sent to Tartarus and melded together by Kronos. "He created his own army by merging two tortured, warrior souls into one, and then sent them to wreak havoc on earth," Liebesman relates.

"They are eight-foot-tall, two-headed, six-armed warriors who can run and roll and fight and jump with strength superior to any man," Davis says. "But they are really just the prelude to the evil that's about to come, the huge, final battle for Perseus, Zeus, Hades…everyone."
The war comes to a climax as the over 1,500-foot Kronos bursts free of his bonds and begins to attack.

"Kronos created the world from chaos, and he wants to return the world to that state," Liebesman notes. "What I love about him is that he reminds me of an atomic bomb when he hits the screen—this massive explosion with tons of volcanic debris flying off of him and setting fire to everything in his path."

Davis adds, "Kronos has forever been this unstable, volatile force that the humans have unwittingly been sitting on, and as soon as Zeus' strength fully empowers him, he erupts: rocks cascade off of him, the prison walls start to collapse and lava bubbles up from underneath."
He goes on to describe the Titan king as having "human proportions, but he's comprised of streams of solidified and molten lava that is constantly pouring off his body. He's also covered in pyroclastic clouds that billow off of him, and as he moves, he hurls lava bombs toward the people below."

Kronos was achieved entirely via CG, but that was no deterrent for Sam Worthington, who has become something of a master of fighting green screen beasts. For the actor, it's all in a day's work. "It's simple: you have to believe in the world. When my nephew runs around pretending he is fighting monsters, it's the same thing. As long as you commit and believe, then the audience will also commit and believe. We know it's computer generated, because Kronos and Cyclops and Chimera don't exist, but if I dive into the situation 100 percent, then hopefully the audience will follow and not be pulled out of the world."

Opening across the Philippines on Thursday, March 29, "Wrath of the Titans" is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros.Entertainment Company.

Drive to a whole new level at the Manila International Auto Show 2012

The 17th World Building and Construction Exposition (WORLDBEX) once again proved to be a success. Over 152,000 visitors flocked to the World Trade Center Metro Manila and experienced 30,000 sq. m. of booths and exhibits from local and international industry players.

“WORLDBEX leads the future of the construction industry in the Philippines by providing an avenue where local suppliers can showcase their products globally and likewise giving Filipinos an opportunity to see what the international market has to offer,” says Joseph Ang, founding chair of Worldbex Services International (WSI).

WSI, however, is just getting started. From one world-class expo to another, car enthusiasts will once again race to the World Trade Center from March 29 to April 1, 2012, 10am to 10pm, for the highly anticipated 8th Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). With the theme “Motorsports”, MIAS 2012 turns the spotlight on “Life in the Fast Lane” and the current trend of developing new and updated models of sports cars by different car brands, all designed to outride the competition.

With over 85,000 attendees annually, MIAS 2012 is bigger with 110 companies occupying the WTC, the Philippine Trade Training Center, the adjoining WTC East Wing and the specially constructed WTC East Wing B, with the total exhibit area now at 30,000 sqm. MIAS 2012 would feature the best concept cars, hybrid cars and many other automotives that will change the way we look at motoring and driving.

The highlights of this year’s MIAS include the Russ Swift Precision Driving Stunt Show, various car launches, motorsports exhibits, special demonstrations, and many more. Some of the notable events would be the Top Gear exhibit, which will feature top of the line car setups, the MD Juan World II re-enactment using Jeep vehicles, and the Philippines’ most powerful car sponsored by Motul.

Also back is a bolder and bigger amphibian truck, which the Philippine Army, Philippine Marines, and the private sector modified and improved for this year’s show. Strategic spots throughout the venue have also been transformed into bachelor pads where visitors can watch their favorite movies, mingle with the car shows models, and test drive the car of your dreams.

There will be a Gala Night for the Car of the Year Awards 2012 competition at the PTTC, hosted by the Car Awards Group, Inc. Other competitions such as the MIAS Classic and Custom Car Competition, and a car photography contest would also be held.

MIAS merchandise can also be purchased at the venue, with items such as shirts, caps, USB hubs, baller IDs, and other MIAS 2012 novelty items.

The 8th Manila International Auto Show is important since it aids in effectively boosting local car industry, especially with BPI Family Bank’s Auto Madness, which offers low interest rates for car buyers during the show.

Fasten your seatbelts and drive on over to the most exciting car show in town, where the hottest cars and the prettiest ladies convene, the 8th Manila International Auto Show this March 29 to April 1, 2012 at the World Trade Center and brace yourself for a ride you’ll never forget.

Henry Probes PAGCOR Bribery Controversy in 'Krusada'

Henry Omaga-Diaz will look into the claims involving the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR)'s senior officials who were allegedly paid off to approve a foreign casino mogul's bid to run a casino in the country this Thursday (Mar 22) in "Krusada."

Casino mogul Steve Wynn, CEO of Wynn Resorts and Casino in Las Vegas and Macau, has charged former business partner Kazuo Okada of providing illegal and lavish gifts and accommodations to PAGCOR chairman Cristino Naguiat, his family, and the government agency's officials to secure a license to own and develop a casino in the PAGCOR Entertainment City in Parañaque City.

An investigation commissioned by Wynn's company also concluded that corruption is 'deeply ingrained' in the Philippines' gaming industry and doubted President Benigno Aquino III's plans for reform would eradicate it.

Naguiat confirmed the casino visits and hotel accommodations in Las Vegas and Macau, which he insisted were common gambling industry practices arranged for operators such as him. Could it be considered an "industry practice" or an outright unethical conduct considering PAGCOR's regulatory function in rejecting and approving gaming investments in the country?

Henry will find out if PACGOR should drop its role in managing gambling operations and just concentrate on its responsibility of regularizing and permitting gaming ventures in the country.

Listen, take part and be one with Henry's crusade because it takes more than words to make a stand. 'Dark Shadows' - Official Movie Poster and Trailer

Director Tim Burton brings the cult classic series “Dark Shadows” to the big screen in a gothic comedy featuring an all-star cast, led by Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer and Helena Bonham Carter. Check out the film’s international one-sheet art and first trailer at http://youtu.be/ttFswa2dM1c, both recently revealed by Warner Bros.

Synopsis: In the year 1752, Joshua and Naomi Collins, with young son Barnabas, set sail from Liverpool, England to start a new life in America. But even an ocean was not enough to escape the mysterious curse that has plagued their family. Two decades pass and Barnabas (Depp) has the world at his feet—or at least the town of Collinsport, Maine. The master of Collinwood Manor, Barnabas is rich, powerful and an inveterate playboy…until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Bouchard (Green). A witch, in every sense of the word, Angelique dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire, and then burying him alive.

Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. The dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better, each harboring their own dark secrets. Matriarch Elizabeth Collins Stoddard (Pfeiffer) has called upon live-in psychiatrist, Dr. Julia Hoffman (Bonham Carter), to help with her family troubles.

Also residing in the manor is Elizabeth’s ne’er-do-well brother, Roger Collins, (Jonny Lee Miller); her rebellious teenage daughter Carolyn Stoddard (Chloe Moretz); and Roger’s precocious 10-year-old son, David Collins (Gulliver McGrath). The mystery extends beyond the family, to caretaker Willie Loomis, played by Jackie Earle Haley, and David’s new nanny, Victoria Winters, played by Bella Heathcote.

Opening across the Philippines in May 2012, “Dark Shadows” is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Big Bang - 'Bad Boy' Music Video

From the Fader:

The song opens with a very Slick Rick-sounding, A-yo, Choice, drop it on me, spoken by the group’s leader, G-Dragon, an androgynous man with a delicate, Skrillex-inspired hairpiece and a patched motorcycle jacket with a teal muppet-fur back. Despite spending 6 years being trained for stardom by his record label before debuting with Big Bang, G-Dragon was indicted by Seoul police last October for smoking marijuana. Either way, he’s totally seamless here. “Bad Boy” is exquisite, with roots in the airiest of hip-hop/R&B summer crossover. Though it’s sung 90 percent in subtly processed Korean, carefully placed English phrases explain the song succinctly—Sorry, I’m a bad boy… you’re a good girl—and provide crucial hooks for at-home singalong. “Bad Boy” floats the way your hand does riding currents outside the car window, in and out of the sun without seemingly any effort.

NEWS5 Team Undergoes CNN Training with Emmy-winning Anchor Jim Clancy

The World's news leader CNN recently conducted a two-day in-country session, led by veteran correspondent and news anchor Jim Clancy and International Newsource director Eli Flournoy, training the anchors, correspondents and producers of NEWS5, TV5's news organization.

The training maximizes NEWS5's CNN broadcast partnership which it inked with the international news agency in September 2010.

The CNN-NEWS5 in-country training was focused on lectures and workshops with international scope and scale, while remaining relevant to the local broadcast landscape. According to DJ Sta. Ana, NEWS5 head of news operations, the training is beneficial "in the sense that it helps them [anchors, reporters and producers] improve their skill. It exposes them to them the processes involved in international news organizations so they are able to pick up ideas, best practices and scenarios which they can apply and relate with their own work here," he said. "And it's always beneficial to learn from people of experience like Jim Clancy."

Meanwhile, Ann Chu, executive director of CNN broadcast services and affiliate relations, is optimistic that the training will strengthen the partnership of the two news organizations. "I'm delighted that our newsrooms are able to work even more closely together. CNN has always acknowledged building local relations with journalists as crucial to our shared success."

The attendees were inspired by the work ethic and very extensive broadcast experience of the multi-awarded Jim Clancy, whose experience across the world's biggest stories, including in the MiddleEast and Africa, earned him several recognitions from prestigious award-giving bodies including the Emmy, George Polk and Alfred I.DuPont.

For Erwin Tulfo, anchor of NEWS5's flagship newscast AKSYON, the in-country training presented greater opportunities for seasoned broadcast journalists and new breeds alike. "I've been in this business for quite some time but I still learn a lot of things like new ways, new techniques in covering stories and events. He [CNN's Jim Clancy] knows a lot of things—from anchoring to covering. He has been at CNN for more than three decades. I learned a lot of things from him. He was very inspirational." Erwin disclosed, adding that he's looking forward to improving his "covering, anchoring skills" and probably share it with NEWS5's junior reporters and new anchors.

Maeanne Los Baños, one of NEWS5's junior correspondents who attended the two-day training, related that each lecture from the training was very insightful, especially for them who work in the field. "I think the timing is really perfect for us working as correspondents. Specifically, I value the lectures on reporting in a hostile environment and lecture on balanced reporting and ethics," she related. "I really value his [Jim Clancy] stories about how he actually prepares each day on his work. He still devotes more than two hours for readingnewspapers before he goes to work. That's something that reminds us of how big our responsibility is as journalist. That we're not just there to cover we have to sit there each day so that we'll be able to give the information as complete as we can to the viewers," she continued.

ANC Gives the Deaf a Voice Through Sign Language Interpreters

When the sign language interpreters of "Chief Justice on Trial: the ANC Coverage" first encountered the term 'subpoena duces tecum' and other obscure legal terms, they had to text colleagues who were off-duty and scrabble for the nearest dictionary to find out their meaning and devise ways to interpret them.

Nine weeks into the legalese-heavy trial, the interpreters-instructors from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (CSB-SDEAS) and Philippine National Association of Sign Language Interpreters (PNASLI) still get on with their preparation practices before they sit on-air at 2 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays – bring a dictionary, consult with lawyers and the Deaf community, and on their off days, meet and discuss difficult legalphrases and the best ways to 'sign' them.

Two sign language interpreters take turn every 20 minutes on a single trial day in interpreting the argument among the prosecution and defense panels and the senator-judges live. Off-camera, a Deaf coordinator, a hearing coordinator – and at times, a legal consultant – synergize to ensure legal technicalities are correctly interpreted.

This initiative of ANC, the ABS-CBN News Channel, to fortify its uninterrupted coverage of the impeachment trial has spawned wider political participation by making information accessible to the Deaf.

ANC has established itself as 'the news channel' that delivers non-stop reportage of news events including the groundbreaking blow-by-blow coverage of the Former Joseph 'Erap' Estrada's impeachment trial, which is a first on Philippine TV media.

ANC managing director Ging Reyes expressed that the sign language initiative serves as another milestone for the news channel and recognizes the Deaf who have a stake in the growth of the country.

Catherine Joy Villareal, an instructor at CSB-SDEAS and one of the interpreters, said the team has garnered significantly excellent reactions from the Deaf community in provinces and even Filipinos abroad.

"We get to perform our roles, however little, in this historical event. Our goal is to serve the Deaf community for them to be able to be aware of what's happening and for them to have a voice. They participate in what's happening through us and through ANC's efforts," she said.

ANC first incorporated sign language insets during the airing of President Benigno Aquino III's 2010 and 2011 State of the Nation Addresses. Following positive feedback on these efforts, the country's first and only 24/7 news channel once again tapped the CSB-SDEAS faculty to make sure the Filipino Deaf community is not left out on the historic hearing.

Beyond this initiative to engage Deaf viewers, the interpreting team also hopes to promote support for legislations that would require sign language insets in all newscasts and TV programs.

"The effort is significant in a sense that we're making history not just for the Deaf as a community but for the Philippines as a country. We're slowly integrating the Deaf into the society and openingopportunities to them," said Oscar Sherlo Reyes, CSB-SDEAS' coordinator for Employment Opportunities and one of the hearing coordinators in ANC's coverage.

Aside from the CSB-SDEAS faculty and PNASLI, sign language interpreters from partner groups CAP College, Philippine Association of Interpreters for Deaf Empowerment, and Manila Christian Computer Institute for the Deaf also volunteer for ANC's impeachment trial coverage.

Aside from coming up with interpretations of technical terms not initially covered by Filipino sign language, the constant challenge for the interpreters is being impartial yet conveying the emotion and tone of the speaker in the trial to ensure interpretation accuracy. John Xandre Baliza, one of the interpreters and also the coordinator for CSB-SDEAS's Educational Interpreting Program, said the ANC stint has been a learning experience for them who don't have legalbackground.

"Physically and mentally, it's very demanding, but it's worth it. It's not really about giving the Deaf community 'access,' but giving back to them what's rightfully theirs," he remarked.

The initiative gives access to the Deaf to be informed and involved in an important national issue and it further demonstrates ANC's commitment to make news and information accessible to the publics through various media platforms on-air and online.

People can watch "Chief Justice on Trial: the ANC Coverage" on cable TV ANC (SkyCable Channel 27) or online streamed live on http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/cjontrial, while those mobile can get instant updates by following @ANCALERTS on Twitter.

'The Ringer' Starring Sarah Michelle Gellar Every Thursday on AXN Beyond

Sarah Michelle Gellar is back, but she is no longer kicking vampire bottoms. Instead, get a double dose of the blonde beauty as she takes on the duo lead roles of identical twin sisters caught in a dark, sexy and suspenseful entanglement of deceit and vengeance.

Premiering 15 March, airing on Thursdays at 10.55pm first and exclusively on AXN Beyond, the brand new thriller drama series Ringer marks the return of Sarah Michelle Gellar (The Grudge) to TV since starring in the iconic teen supernatural drama series Buffy the Vampire Slayer which concluded in 2003.

In the intense and intrigue-filled Ringer, the svelte American actress plays Bridget Kelly, a recovering drug addict and former exotic dancer. Just as her life is getting back on track, Bridget witnesses a professional hit and is placed under witness protection of FBI agent Victor Machado (Nestor Carbonell, Lost). Fearing she is not safe from the mob, Bridget flees without even telling her close friend and Narcotics Anonymous sponsor Malcolm Ward (Mike Colter, The Good Wife).

Contacting her estranged identical twin sister Siobhan Martin, also played by Gellar, Bridget reunites with her for the first time in six years in New York City. Fabulously wealthy, Siobhan is married to the strikingly handsome and self-made millionaire investor Andrew Martin, played by Ioan Gruffudd (The Fantastic Four), and he has no idea that Bridget exists. When Siobhan disappears, seemingly having taken her own life at sea, Bridget makes the split second decision to assume her sister's identity.

Bridget discovers that Siobhan lives a fantasy-like life of luxury, but nothing is what they appear to be. Andrew and Siobhan's picture-perfect relationship is icy and broken. Even Andrew's troubled teenage daughter, Juliet (Zoey Deutsch, The Suite Life on Deck), resents her stepmother and blames her for the strained relationship she has with her father.

Plunged into her twin sister's glamorous world, Bridget tries to keep up her façade and uncovers Siobhan's dark secrets. She meets Siobhan's best friend Gemma (Tara Summers, Boston Legal), a successful architect and interior designer, only to be horrified that Siobhan has been having an affair with Gemma's husband, Henry (Kristoffer Polaha, Life Unexpected). A struggling writer, Henry is in love with Siobhan and is hurt and confused by her sudden personality change.

Although Bridget goes to great lengths to leave her past behind, agent Machado is not giving up the chase as she is the key witness to his murder investigation. And when an attempt is made on her life, Bridget discovers that living as Siobhan is no less dangerous than the old life she is trying to escape…

As the many twists and turns keep viewers riveted to the fast-paced and intricate neo noir series, fans will be captivated by Sarah Michelle Gellar's multi-faceted portrayal of the sisters in Ringer - from the regret-filled but hopeful fugitive Bridget, to the polished yet bitter Siobhan who has revenge on her mind, and Bridget impersonating Siobhan. American national daily 'USA Today' praised her for "two very good, well-defined Gellar performances", while Hollywood news authority 'E! Entertainment' called Gellar "awesome" and "fantastic" in her roles.

Gellar confessed that her return to TV was motivated by her "missing" the work she used to do. Noting that there are many "amazing roles" for women on TV now, Gellar also shared that TV work enables her to stay home and be with her two year old daughter. In addition to starring, Gellar is an executive producer of Ringer which was co-created by Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder, writers of Supernatural, with CSI: New York showrunner Pam Veasey also executive producing.

Taking on twice the challenge, Sarah Michelle Gellar is poised for her highly anticipated return to television in a gripping thriller that doubles your fix of mystery as well as the star we've all missed in Ringer, starting this March only on AXN Beyond.

Truth or Lie? You Be The Judge in 'Penn and Teller Tell A Lie'

Known for their razor sharp wit and engaging minds, show-stopping iconoclasts Penn and Teller bring their unique vision of the world to Discovery Channel in Penn and Teller Tell A Lie, a new series with a twist that brings the truly unthinkable to the television screen. In each episode, the dynamic duo highlight wildly unbelievable stories – all of which are true, except one. But the question is, which one? You decide, on Penn and Teller Tell A Lie,premiering every Wednesday at 10:00 pm starting March 21, with encores every Saturday at 9:00 pm.

For 35 years, Penn and Teller have defied labels – and at times physics – by redefining the genre of magic and inventing their very own distinct niche in comedy. This March in Discovery Channel's exciting new six-part series, Penn and Teller present Penn and Teller Tell A Lie in their signature free-flowing, fast-paced manner. Can a butter knife stop a speeding bullet? Can you melt steel with bacon? How about lifting a car with a head of human hair? And is it really possible to stop an arrow with a linen shirt? These are some of the outrageous claims that Penn and Teller showcase in Penn and Teller Tell A Lie. But things are not always what they seem. While most of these wacky stories are absolutely, positively true, one of them is a totally believable big fat lie! It will be up to you to spot the fake by noticing buried clues that give it away.

If there are two things Penn and Teller stand for, it's the truth and lying… although not necessarily in that order!

Follow An Epic Journey to Raise Kidney Awareness in 'Worldriderz'

Motorbike-mad Stephane Etienne is a man on a mission. Combining his enthusiasm for motorcycles with a very personal reason – his newborn son has malfunctioning kidneys – Stephane is embarking on an epic motorcycle journey from Sydney to Paris to raise awareness on chronic kidney disease, in TLC's six-part series WORLDRIDERZ. Joining him is his friend Paul Torriero. Along the way, the duo will take their awareness-building project over a course of 30,000 kilometres, visiting children's hospitals to determine their most immediate needs and establishing links to set up a web-based information-sharing network. Follow the inspiring and heart-warming journey of the WORLDRIDERZ when the series premieres every Thursday at 9:00 p.m., beginning March 22 on TLC. Encores the following Thursdays at 3:00 p.m.

When Stephane Etienne learnt that his son Ilhan was born with a chronic kidney condition, he did not sit still. Grappling with his son's critical condition, Stephane discovered that there is little research into chronic kidney disease. So he was determined to do something about it. Stephan devised a plan to traverse the globe with his good friend and partner, Paul Torriero, to raise awareness on kidney disease. WORLDRIDERZ follows the pair as they make their way across Australia, Malaysia, India, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Italy and Paris over four gruelling months. With no support team, everything they need is loaded onto their KTM 990 adventure tour bikes.

Along their journey, Stephane and Paul meet the local medical community in the cities they visit, and get to know the on-ground realities of how people are coping with kidney problems in these places. Assessing these issues, the duo then lend a hand by putting the local medical professionals in touch with kidney specialists in Sydney so that knowledge can be shared or, by providing services for more pressing problems via sponsors linked to the WORLDRIDERZ project.

Stephane and Paul's adventures for a good cause take them through diverse cultures and breath-taking landscapes. Whether they are taking a break at a waterfall in Malaysia or marvelling at the grandeur and expanse of the African desert, Stephane and Paul make the best of the down-time they get. They even get a private audience with His Holiness, the Dalai Lama in Dharamshala. However, their experiences are not always positive – Egypt and Tunisia end up being particularly difficult places where one of their bikes mysteriously disappears for some time!

From heat exhaustion and fatigue to vehicle wear-and-tear to changes in plans due to unforeseen problems, the WORLDRIDERZ's cross-continent journey is dotted with countless emotional experiences and challenges. But their hopes are always rejuvenated by the warmth and hospitality of the many faces they meet along their way, motivating the men to keep at their mission.

This March, join Stephane and Paul as they ride for a mission close to their hearts in TLC's WORLDRIDERZ.

Based in Austin, Texas, Qui is executive chef of Japanese farmhouse dining and sushi restaurant, Uchiko. Trained in classic French and Japanese cuisine, he takes a modernist approach towards food with no boundaries, and is an associate in Culinary Arts from Le Cordon Bleu Austin.

Qui was born in Manila where his love affair with food began as a child with the "sweet smells of freshly baked breads in the mornings and the diverse culture of the Philippines" that he found in the bustling bakery of his family's grocery store. He moved to the US at the age of ten and received training at Austin's Texas Culinary Academy before working up the ranks at Texas, Austin-based contemporary Japanese dining and sushi restaurant Uchi, before becoming executive chef of offshoot restaurant Uchiko.

Members of the local media, beTV advertising clients and cable platform partners were privileged to enjoy Qui's Top Chef Season 9-winning culinary excellence in a dinner menu created and prepared by Qui, in celebration of the beTV rebrand. Viewers can catch Qui competing against a record field of 28 other contestants for the honour of 'Top Chef' in Texas on Top Chef Season 9 coming first and exclusively to beTV.

From 2 April, beTV invites you to be yourself, be involved, and be surrounded by great entertainment on SkyCable channel 35, Dream Satellite channel 36 & Cignal Digital TV channel 37.
