A romantic comedy remake of the Venezuelan hit series, Mi Gorda Bella, Big Love follows the story of Marianela, a sweet and overweight girl who lived most of her life without the love and warmth of a family but still had a positive outlook on life. Being separated from her mother at a young age, Marianela never lost hope that the day will come when she and her mother would be together again. On the day of her graduation, Marianela's wish was about to come true.
Unfortunately, a helicopter accident kills her mother and she ends up living with her Aunt Freda and Uncle Emiliano along with her cousins Emanuel, Kristel, Gretel and Axel. Marianela starts to suffer from humiliation and mockery in her new home but finds comfort in Emanuel. Marianela can't help but fall for her knight in shining armor. Ilitia, Emanuel's fiancée, knows that Marianela's gentle heart can easily win his heart. She makes Marianela's life miserable with the help of Emanuel's sister, Kristel.
Adding to Marianela's miserable life is her Aunt Freda who decides to take over her inheritance by forging documents stating that Eva owed her a large sum of money and putting her name as the legal owner of everything Marianela's mother owned and leaving nothing to her niece.
