Revillame surprised his studio audience on Tuesday when he announced his intent to retire after his contract with TV5 ends this October.
The 50-year-old TV host said "burnout" is the main reason why he wanted to take a long vacation after "Wowowillie" ends this October.
Revillame also revealed that he already submitted his "intent to retire" letter to the TV5 management last May 17.
Meanwhile, TV5 has released a short statement on Tuesday afternoon regarding Revillame's "intent to retire":
"We respect the decision of Mr. Willie Revillame to retire upon the expiry of his contract with TV5. We wish him well in his new pursuits."
Last week, "Wowowillie" business unit head Jay Montelibano denied rumors that Willie Revillame is allegedly demanding a P90-million monthly talent fee from TV5.
